Brown Bag Bacon and Eggs

This is Sheer Fun:

Whether or not your first attempt at this recipe turns out, it is a lot a fun! This looks like magic to the kids and the breakfast tastes oh so much better when prepared this way.

Ingredients

  • 1 regular sized paper school lunch bag
  • 2 strips of bacon cut in half
  • 1 egg
  • Fire pit with hot coals

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Line the bottom of the paper sack with the bacon strips.  Set directly above hot coals.  Let bacon thoroughly cook.  Amazingly enough, the grease from the bacon keeps the bag from catching fire.

Step 2

When the bacon is at desired crispness, crack your egg into the sack directly on the bacon and close sack by rolling top down.  Let egg fry and steam in bag another couple minutes.

Step 3

Take sack off coals, rip open, and eat directly off the paper.  Easy clean up too, just throw sack in coals when done eating.
